Acquiring the package:
Download the uuencoded file and extract using SparkPlug 2 (see the "tools_help"
file in arch/riscos/tools for further info).
The Tierra !Help file describes how to build the executables. If you get
the error 'Incorrect format - removing project' (or similar) when double-
clicking on the Makefile then load it into an editor and remove the line
that begins with 'PCFlags' which refers to the Pascal compiler.
Description:
Tierra simulates a virtual computer in which programs mutate and evolve,
competing with each other for memory and CPU time. It can be used to study
the way artifical life forms grow and interact, and shows the power of natural
selection.
This is a port of a UNIX program with WIMP support added, but unfortunately,
the license restrictions prevent the distribution of any binaries so you will
need Acorn C (version 4) to compile it.
